The City of Vancouver has received an application to amend the existing CD-1 (Comprehensive Development) District By-laws for 1575 West Georgia Street and 620 Cardero Street. The proposal would allow for a mixed-use building that includes:
1. a 26-storey building;
2. a total of 184 residential units;
3. ground-level commercial space;
4. three floors of office space;
5. seven levels of underground parking; and .a height of 80.8 m (265 ft.)

There is concern that this new building will affect the amount of light we get, especially in the winter, when light is scarcer, anyway. It may also drastically effect the amount of direct sunlight we get to our rooftop gardens.
