December Events in Vancouver 2017

After what was one of the rainiest Novembers on record, it looks like we’ll be given a bit of a break to enjoy some decent weather.

Here are some fun things to do around the city:

Or maybe go check out some Christmas Lights? or wander around the Vancouver Christmas Market? Christmas at Canada Place is right next door.

And don’t forget to join us December 16 for the Co-op Christmas Social!

Community Kitchen

A few months back, courtesy of a grant we got from Neighbourhood Small Grants, we started a monthly community kitchen.

The idea was to get together once a month and create a healthy meal that we could all then take home to our families.

We have had two meetings so far. At the first, we had four families, and we made chili, cornbread and cookies for dessert. At the second, we made about 300 perogies, and 6 families participated.

Our next meeting will focus on Christmas Cookies. We’ll be making lots and lots and LOTS of Christmas cookies, and you can take them home both raw and baked. It will take place on December 2 between 2 and 4 pm. If you want to attend, please sign up here, so we know how much ingredients to buy.

Everyone welcome, no cost.

Lost a Friend

We recently lost one of our friends and neighbours (from the PAL), Sean Allan. We’re all going to miss seeing him at the July 1 Pancake Breakfasts and having coffee at Breaking Bean.

If you would like to attend Sean’s Celebration of Life, it will take place at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 30th at Unity of Vancouver (located at 5840 Oak Street).

Yaletown Candytown–Fun Event

Saturday, November 25 is the 6th annual free outdoor festival in Yaletown. It’s a lot of fun to attend! Noon to 7 pm–check it out.
