September Events 2019

It’s September! What happened to summer? It seems like it vanished overnight…

Pride this weekend!

This weekend marks Vancouver’s Pride parade and celebration.

2019 is a big year, because it’s the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in San Francisco, which started the original Pride protest/celebration movement, and was pivotal in bringing LGBTQ rights to the forefront.

Vancouver celebrates Pride on Sunday, August 4, and there will be road closures nearby that may affect local traffic.

The Parade starts at noon on Robson St, then makes it way down Robson, along Denman, and finally up Beach Avenue to Sunset Beach.

For full road closures, click here.

Free and cheap things to do in Metro Vancouver this summer

Our favourite thing to do in the summer is to ride our bikes over to Second Beach Pool. If you pack a lunch, this costs the princely sum of $6 for pool admission, which is a pretty great deal.
